LIME keeps in touch with Ona Glinton Primary School

Ona Glinton Primary School was damaged by fire not too long ago that had completely destroyed nine of the classrooms, and several others buildings. LIME stepped in with the text line that was used to mobilize support in the early days.

Ona Glinton Primary was the recipient of the CARIFTA promotion where the lucky winner chose the school that LIME would donate $5000 towards. This money would be used towards the sporting program at the school. An additional $1000 was given as well for the school from LIME.

Recently during Caribbean Wellness Week, LIME used the opportunity to once again touch the students and teachers at the Ona Glinton Primary School by donating fruits during that week.
Mr. Seymour commented: “LIME believes it is important for students to develop a healthy lifestyle by including fruits for a balanced diet.”

LIME’s Grand Turk staff members, Leaser Jones and Doreen Francis assisted with delivering the fruits to the Ona Glinton Primary School. Principal, Mrs. Gwen Harvey said, “Thank you LIME for coming into the school once again and showing generosity towards us. It is appreciated.

LIME will continue to play an active role in the lives of the young people in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

LIME - Reaching out to the Haitian Community

LIME believes that Sports is as important as Education is in the lives of the community and it is in this belief that LIME continues to support sporting activities that enhance the lives of young people.

The representative wearing the jersey
LIME donated some commemorative CARIFTA 2010 jerseys to be used at game time for one of the Turks & Caicos Islands’ local soccer teams-The Spack Boul Soccer Team. These jerseys will assist as a uniform for their upcoming games.

Spack Boul team players are passionate about sports and are determined to take home the winning trophy. The team is preparing for an upcoming series of games to be held and LIME has assisted this local soccer team.

A representative of The Spack Boul Soccer team  posed with one of the jerseys and said, “Thank you LIME for this. Our team is very grateful for this donation.” The team was overjoyed to accept the jersey shirts from LIME and the company was happy to have been able to support.
Mr. Yves Metries stated: “We now have an opportunity to participate in the upcoming soccer games and will ensure that these uniforms will be used for every game”.

LIME’s General Manager, Mr. Drexwell Seymour: “LIME has over the years, been very generous in seeking to deliver resources to many organizations in the Turks & Caicos Islands, for the overall betterment of his country.” LIME will continue to aid those in the sports arena whenever we can.

LIME & GSAT 2012

LIME, a partner in Education, is once again giving all Grade 6 students the opportunity to log on to Caribbean Examinations online to participate in the Go GSAT Program.  This educational resource is open to all Grade 6 students nationally.

Parents are encouraged to get on board and push children to sign up and adequately prepare for the GSAT examinations to be held in 2012. Mr. Seymour commented:  “We have started on a journey that will yield success because students have the chance to perform and be rewarded and LIME wants students to get an early start on GoGSAT online.” He cautioned, “Do not wait until it is two weeks before the exam to prepare, but actively participate in doing the test lessons online.”

The Go GSAT Program has benefitted many students as the Education Dept has seen a tremendous improvement in the National Pass Marks for the GSAT exams. LIME is committed to providing the opportunity for our students, the future of the TCI, to advance in education.

Through the “LIME TIME” radio show, LIME will remind parents to encourage their children to log on to the GoGSAT online and prepare for GSAT 2012.  Students can get access codes from the Head Teachers to access the online platform.

Students who do not have computers at home can utilize the computers at the public library facilities in each island. LIME urges students to waste no time, but to use their time wisely and fully prepare for the GSAT exams.

LIME’s contribution to The House of Jeritt

The House of Jeritt is home to Jeritt Fashions, a fashion designing company originally from the Turks & Caicos Islands. Fashion Designer Jeritt Jermell Williams’ work has won top awards for three consecutive years at The Miss Turks & Caicos Pageant in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and his work has also been featured in numerous fashion shows and magazines of the Turks & Caicos Islands.

LIME has once again demonstrated its commitment to the Turks & Caicos Islands and is always pleased to see the youth of the Turks & Caicos making progress in their lives and will continue to support the educational and professional development of our nation’s people.

As Mr. Williams sets off to exhibit his work in the Bahamas, LIME has endeavored to contribute to his success. He stated that “I will be able to show the world what “The beautiful by nature Turks & Caicos Islands” has to offer.” LIME is a proud sponsor of his award-winning work.

General Manager, Mr. Drexwell Seymour commented, “In supporting Mr. Williams as LIME has supported other ventures in the community, we believe that this gives a boost of confidence in our youth who are striving ambitiously to succeed and LIME believes in giving whole- heartedly back to the society in order for prosperous change to occur.”
